A Unique Out-of-theatre Experience Not To Be Missed

Thursday, 06 Jun 2024

A Unique Out-of-theatre Experience Not To Be Missed Griffith Regional Theatre, RAREBIRD ensemble and Limone Dining are presenting a one-of-a-kind cabaret show, “Love & Forgetting – Tales from a Young Mixer,” for two nights only.
Set in the beautiful Limone Dining, this experience includes a meal and a performance to be held on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 July 2024.
Theatre Manager, Marg Andreazza said she is excited to be partnering with Limone to present a different type of theatre show.
“It’s a cabaret with a meal and it’s going to be a great night out! You can enjoy a long lazy dinner, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy the show as you are transported to yesteryear,” Ms Andreazza said.

Love & Forgetting – Tales from a Young Mixer”, weaves fragments from classic cinema, literary icons and tunes from musicals, with stories from bartenders, as well as the artist’s own life story, blurring the boundaries between actor and audience.”
Written, produced and performed by Jeremy James and Jack Martin, of RAREBIRD ensemble, this show was a sell-out at the Melbourne Fringe Festival when it was set in the 5-star Sofitel Hotel.
Jack Martin said this is theatre like you’ve never seen it before.
“It’s a unique immersive experience performed by your bartender, raising a glass to storytelling, community and growing up in country Australia,” he said.
RARE BIRD ensemble was founded in Boorloo/Perth in 2022 by international theatre artist, Jeremy James, and WAAPA graduate, and Leeton local, Jack Martin. The company offers new and immersive experiences enriching the connection between the actor and audience. Combining musical, physical and traditional theatre practices in site-specific performance, this debut work is currently touring NSW.
Actor, director and teacher, Jeremy James has received public and critical acclaim for his work with renowned theatre companies and drama schools across five continents over the past 25 years; notably with Théâtre du Soleil in Paris for a decade and back in Australia with NIDA and WAAPA.
Jack Martin is a performer and theatre-maker who cut his teeth on the boards of Griffith Regional Theatre with Beauty and the Beast, Grease and Wicked before completing professional training in Musical Theatre and Performance Making at WAAPA.
This experience will include the performance, a fully catered dining experience and a beverage on arrival.
Jeremy and Jack will also be leading a two-day workshop for local actors, directors and drama teachers, in partnership with Griffith Regional Theatre, Griffith & Regional Association of the Performing Art (GRAPA) and Western Riverina Arts in July.
