Fearless, Jelena’s second book, shares the impact her formative years have had on her and her refusal to be defined by her trauma – she is determined to grow, be stronger and wiser because of it, and wants to help others who may also be suffering.
Not only did she escape a war, lived as a refugee — twice — was subject to bullying, and suffered immense abuse at the hands of her father, she did so while training to be a tennis champion.
Jelena suffered in silence for years and it wasn’t until first book Unbreakable was released that she was able to unburden her secrets.
Join Jelena Dokic, in conversation, as she shares her stories, her experiences and how she is finding a way to move past them.
Following the talk, books will be available for sale through Collins Booksellers Griffith and signed by the author.
Secure your free ticket via wrl.eventbrite.com.au This is a ticketed event and tickets will need to be displayed upon entry.
Those attending should be aware that topics discussed may include mental health, suicide, abuse, war and eating disorders.
Griffith City Library Manager Chris Robson said this is an author talk not to be missed.
“It’s an honour to have such a strong and successful sportswoman with an incredible story to tell join us in Griffith,” he said.
“I suggest those wanting to attend hurry, because tickets are going fast.”
