Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system to be reinstated

Griffith City Council is set to reinstate the Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system for eligible users.
The decision to reinstate the MLAK system was a recent resolution from Council’s Disability, Inclusion and Access Committee and was adopted by Council in late March.
MLAK is a universal lock and key system that allows people with a disability access to public facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including wheelchair accessible toilets and Liberty swings.
Users are advised the system will be reactivated by June 2024 and to ensure they carry the correct key to access facilities.
MLAK keys are available free of charge, on application from Council’s Customer Service Centre at 1 Benerembah Street Griffith.
The MLAK system will also be used for access at the new Mountain Bike Track and a map will be created to be displayed on Council’s website and social media identifying locations of accessible facilities with the MLAK system.
Users are also encouraged to download the National Public Toilet Map App. Find out more at www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/national-public-toilet-map-app
