Council Support & Incentives for new Businesses

Council provides assistance to incoming new businesses and investors via the following incentives;

  • Dedicated Business Assistance Officer – A member of our ED team will act as a single point of contact for prospective investors, providing continuity of advise and assistance in helping to meet individual business requirements. Access to Informed Decisions (.id) statistics, monthly Evolve Business Newsletter, Economic Development website and Local Economic Development Strategy.
  • Fast tracked development application and provision of pre-lodgement meetings with Council's Development Assessment team.
  • Estimated 44 day turn around for any development application submitted providing that no objections are received.
  • Guided famils – provision of a guided familiarisation tour to highlight the regions unique characteristics and business potential.
  • Industry networking – provision of information and contact details for regional industry bodies and business enterprise groups including an introductory meeting.
  • Griffith City Council provide Easy to do Business service in partnership with Service NSW for new start-ups.
  • Business Case Assistance – assistance provided to prospective investors in obtaining the local economic and business data needed in preparation of project analysis and viability studies including id. consultancy data and economic impact assessment.
  • Business and new resident welcome package – provision of a package of information pertinent to business operations in the Griffith LGA to prospective investors or relocating employees.
  • Community engagement – Provision of general public relations and media advise. Assistance or participation in marketing awareness campaigns to assist with community engagement for relevant projects.
  • NSW Planning Portal - An online environment where developers can access planning services and information from anywhere at any time. Council has implemented development application submission through the planning portal and can also provide access the DA Tracker service.
