About Unlemon - A Meandering Tale of Citrus...
Featuring the work of South Australian artist, Alison Mitchell, this exhibition of over 40 still-life oil paintings unfolds the story of citrus. From its origins approximately 20 million years ago on the Gondwana supercontinent, through its trade routes from China and Persia to the Mediterranean and the Americas, and on to its uses in medicine and culinary practices, the humble citrus is elevated in this exquisite exhibition.

Supplied lunch will be an assortment of delicious wraps and sandwiches, alternate meals for those with dietary requirements can be accommodated for.

Friday 17 February (between 12pm - 2pm)
Talk with Raymond Wholohan at 12:15pm

About

Encaustic Demonstration and Q&A Session with Sharon De Valentin Saturday 18 February, 2023 11:30am - 1:30pm at Griffith Regional Art Gallery The process of making Encaustic Medium from beeswax, damar resin and dry pigment is an art form in itself, a kind of alchemy that leaves room for experimentation and creative expression. Sharon De Valentin has been mastering this artform for some years now and has a wealth of knowledge to share. Join us at the gallery for a fascinating demonstration by Sharon and a question and answer session to follow. A light morning tea will be provided. Sharon De Valentin Sharon De Valentin is an Encaustic Artist from the Riverina region of New South Wales. She creates unique, heirloom paintings and sculptures using locally sourced beeswax, damar resin, colour pigment and fire. Sharon has a natural and sustainable approach which fits in with her philosophy that every part of this labour intensive, time consuming, extraordinary process, is part of the artwork itself.
