FRUSTRATED WITH USING SOCIAL MEDIA?

Griffith City Council in conjunction with Regional Development Australia and TAFE NSW Riverina Institute are calling on interested community members to attend a free Digital Skills for Community Groups Workshop on Tuesday August 2, 2016.

Council’s Community Development Coordinator, Peta Dummett said the workshop is aimed at those who volunteer for a community organisation or work in the Non-Government sector who may be frustrated when trying to use social media and other online tools.

“In today’s fast paced online world, it is easy to get overwhelmed with the number of online communication tools,” said Ms Dummett.

“There are many new and emerging ways to promote your organisation, events and service. This workshop is aimed at walking you through how to determine which ways are right for your organisation and how to use the various online tools at your disposal.”

“The workshop will assist community group volunteers to improve digital literacy skills for greater organisational efficiency, promotion and financial benefit,” she added.

Digital Skills for Community Groups will go through topics such as basic methods of uploading a range of file types, features of eNewsletter applications, connecting to social networking sites safely, and how to link documents and the process of ‘tagging’.

“Follow up support will be provided to those in attendance to help put what you have learnt into practice,” said Ms Dummett.

“If you would like to register for this free workshop, please contact me on 6962 8100 or email Peta.Dummett@griffith.nsw.gov.au before 4pm Thursday 21 July as places are limited.”
