The completion of Stage 1 of the Mountain Bike Track, highlights Council’s commitment to promoting active lifestyles and enhancing public spaces. With its diverse trails and amenities, the track will cater to cyclists of all skill levels, offering a safe and enjoyable experience for families, enthusiasts, and beginners alike.
Mayor, Doug Curran, said "We're proud to unveil Stage 1 of our Mountain Bike Track. This unveiling highlights the importance of investing in recreational infrastructure that promotes health, wellbeing, and community engagement for our community.”
"This project has been a collaborative effort, with input from user groups and the community shaping its development. We look forward to the positive impact it will have on our residents and visitors alike."
The NSW Government has contributed $500,000 through the Places to Play Grant funding, as part of the Open Spaces Program. This grant supports access to innovative adventure, water and nature play spaces for people of all ages and abilities throughout NSW.
Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said the new Mountain Bike Track offers a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get outdoors, meet new people and be more active.
“The NSW Government’s funding contribution has helped Council deliver an exciting new track which will boost the health and wellbeing of the local community while attracting mountain biking enthusiasts from across the state,” Mr Scully said.
“I’m sure riders young and old will flock to this new facility to sample the world-class mountain bike trails now on offer.”
