Exhibition | Sophie Chauncy Trails
Growing up by the banks of the Murrumbidgee, Darlington Point artist Sophie Chauncy is inspired by the energy and beauty of the MIA specifically and rural Australian bushland more broadly. In exploring the unique Australian landscape, Chauncy draws attention to the conservation of its ecosystems articulated by both gestural and intuitive mark making layered with more traditional drawings of plants and animals.

With Sophie Chauncy | 6 July 1-4pm
Mixed Media Workshop
Dive into the diverse world of mixed media art with local artist Sophie Chauncy. This workshop is for beginners to those more experienced, as it is designed to focus on experimentation and an observational approach to viewing natural found materials. Under Sophie’s exploratory tuition, participants will work in watercolours, pastels, inks and other drawing mediums throughout the duration of the three-hour workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring in natural materials from home including flowers, leaves or plants.
